Stewart McLellan Productions works with artists and businesses to create audio that is compelling, satisfying and entertaining. Artists benefit from the vast palette of musical colors to add to a composition - where they may not have the connections or musicians as dedicated as the artist is. Businesses present their spoken word with uplifting musical intros, custom voice-over introductions, and expert editing.

SMP has also worked with skating coaches, dance choreographers, theatre, television producers and pro audio companies to create compelling audio that shows the best of the subject. About The Owner...

Stewart McLellan's first experiments with music were a combination of recording a nylon string guitar with a department store stereo. Stewart adds, "I still owe my brother a new walkman for the one I fried learning to 'daisy-chain' tape recorders." Eventually Stewart got some work in the local grocery business to support the purchase of guitars and recording gear. These were the days of the new affordable 4 track cassette recorder.

Fast forward to the University of Victoria Computer Music program. Editing in 1994 was done on a 66 MHz Macintosh using Sound Designer. You'd do an edit, render it, go for lunch and if the machine didn't crash, you might have a finished file after dessert.

At the turn of the new millenium, Stewart worked with TC-Helicon Vocal Technologies. Product development and support duties saw him work with Dweezil Zappa, Zoux, Pat Lachman (Halford, Damage Plan), David Newman (Disney Film Composer), Taavi Mote (Madonna) and several other music industry people.

Stewart still assists TC-Helicon with product development and support to this day.

Lately, Stewart has worked on projects for The Knowledge Network's Open Learning Agency for the Government of British Columbia, Louise Rose, Kendall SummerHawk, Beth Davis, Dansko Studios, TC-Helicon, IVL Audio Inc. and many others. He records singer / songwriters, classical and jazz musicians, groups, and public speakers. He also edits for business coaches, dance and skating instructors.

Expansion is imminent, with Stewart bringing on another expert editor, and a film producer to handle DVD and web video production.
